On the 19th January 2017, the Australian Bureau of Statistics released the data from the 2016 Survey of Employee Earnings and Hours (EEH) which was conducted in May 2016. This survey runs every two years.
At Anzscosearch we have already incorporated these statistics on our database so average salary information on all occupation groups is updated and easily available to our users when searching for their visa options.
Some interesting statistics include:
- In May 2016 there were 10,147,000 employees, of whom 49.4% were male and 50.6% were female. In May 2014 there were 9,898,900 employees. That means a 0.25% increase in relation to the previous survey.
- In May 2016 the average weekly cash earnings was $1,230.70 for all employees, being $1,457.00 for male employees and $1,010.20 for female employees. In 2014 the weekly average earnings was $1,182.40.
- In May 2016 the average age of all employees was 39.4 years while in 2014 was 39.5.
